Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces increasing in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of heroes who will separate from the central cast to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor (played by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his debts and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as important members in the influential clan could help the team access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Explorers and Schemers parties.
